Early May weather can sometimes be a challenge and this years Class 4, District 8 Tournament provided some nasty playing conditions at Shoal Creek Golf Course. Liberty brought home the title with a steady effort. The Blue Jays top four finishers placed in the Top 10 and their 218 team total was enough to beat a strong effort from Liberty North. The Blue Jay golf squad shaved an impressive 26 strokes off of last years District Tournament total.
Only two strokes separated the top 10 finishers with Liberty North Senior Caleb Davis and Freshmen Daniel Duffin sharing the honors of lowest round with a 78. Davis was declared the official winner via score card playoff. Last years state runner up and district champion Sam Parrot finished two strokes behind with a round of 80.
Liberty and Liberty North qualified as a team for the Monday, May 8, sectionals at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville.
